Paste one example of what you want into your prompt, because that fixes a bad output faster than writing a longer description.
- When you describe a pattern in words, the AI has to guess it, but an example hands it the pattern directly.
- Giving one example is called one-shot prompting, and giving several is called multi-shot prompting.
- To make it write like you, paste in two or three things you actually wrote and ask it to match the tone and structure.
- A negative example, where you say what you do not want and why, can help even more.
- One or two examples is usually plenty, because too many use up your context window and may contradict each other.
Example: Paste in your best past email and say, "Write the new one like this, and do not use em dashes."
